-+wow...it's been long...
Alright, I can safely say almost no one's reading this place any longer... I never found the will to update the poor ailing republic... Perhaps it's work, or loss of interest... Whatever... It's been too long anyway. Almost 3 months eh... I'd be like restarting one of them ol' junks in Sg Ramal, haha. Well, it's actually been off peak since the last update in July. Yeah, the glory period when auditors can proudly say they went to office and did close to nothing. Well, not really, but nothing substantial. It's the time for training, administrative work, filing, preparations for the next peak, preparations for the upcoming interim, etc. But it sure is nice getting to go home at 6pm, haha. Just can't get too comfy before the next round of sleepless nights of working start. So, I don't really have much to update... well, actually plenty happened, just that to write 3 months' worth of stuff here is nuts... So yeah, just a reviver shot to this place. And yes, Jeevan, good ol' buddy, if you ...
-+quite a bit to write...but no time...

Yeah... I wonder how some people manage to work and blog regularly... I really can't imagine myself in that position... Anyway, quite a bit has happened since the last update. Most notably, going to Daicon 2009 and having my weekends robbed away... So, Daicon first... Went to Kampar on Friday (can't remember which past one, haha) to look see look see and pick up small boy at the same time. Jon and David came along... David was a last minute decision, because of a last minute ffk on the part of David's wonderful buddies... And like most of my road trips, shit happens. I don't know why... it just does. Ran out of petrol around 2 1/2 km past the Tapah rest stop... So yeah, we had to walk back to the petrol station at the rest stop to get a couple of bottles of petrol. Luckily the sun wasn't out of the clouds so fast...came out when we were around 100m to the station... I know numbers wise, 2 1/2 doesn't sound far, but trust me... it was bad... we realised that when we managed to hitch a ...
-+finally feeling like off peak

Yup, finally the feeling called off-peak season has arrived... Work can stop at 6 or 7pm, not so much running around... hell, there are even times when we have nothing to do... Well, unless you're a constant target of seniors and managers, which I think I am... Any damn thing come and look for me... ish... Oh well, whatever, I'm packing at latest 7.30pm and not gonna go anywhere near office on Saturdays and Sundays, haha.  - The entire dept had movie night yesterday, on the dept fund's expenses. Watched Transformers 2 - good show, haha. Scant consolation for the usual dept trip I was told... At a point in time, the dept trip was to places like Chiang Mai, and last year, I heard it was Redang. This year - cut. Annual dinner - cut. All the other big 4 must be rubbing their hands in glee - let us do the initial cost cutting measure and then they can follow suit without getting as much bad publicity. Since they did it, now we can follow suit... I almost forgot how bad KTM is until last ...

Yeah, I know... a month has passed I think... Well, quite a bit happened, but none too significant. Though this very spot may need a name change. It ain't my republic anymore... Dad sold off 22A, so I no longer have a plot of land to call my own in Semenyih any longer... T_T... No more sleeping over as and when I want (or nowadays, if I ever find the time to, haha). But I have absolutely no idea what to name it if I were to change it...so, until some divine inspiration comes along, it stays the Republic of Semenyih. After some time, you tend to realise. If only audit management practice or go for some HR lessons. Then perhaps, audit won't be a job dreaded by all budding accountants and loathed by all. Just using the simplest theory - Maslow's, it's immediately apparent that although the levels satisfied by audit goes all the way to self actualisation, audit very obviously neglects the very bottom - physiological needs; enough sleep, rest, food, money. Like trying to build the twin ...
-+We risk it all...

Yep, auditors are underpaid, worked to the death and face a damn hell lot of risk...Going back at hours when crime happens most, facing drunk drivers and rempits on the highway in the wee hours of the morning, lugging a laptop bag all the time that puts us at target...well, it's actually the data inside that we need to protect the most, but like a snatch thief is going to care or has any avenue for selling corporate info right? We work in occasionally risky industries... Malaysia has confirmed the first porky flu case, and guess what? I'm working in Burger King KLIA for at least the next week... Staring at the influenza virus right there... and we only get lunch allowance of just a measly RM10 a day I think... Knowing the food prices at the damned place, it ain't enough. And best of all, our client runs 13 food and beverage outlets in KLIA, but isn't giving us any free food... haih... I'd like to meet an auditor who is not a director or partner in Malaysia or Singapore that LOVES ...
