The Petition for a National database of Marriages and Divorces now has 1286 signatures! We are only 214 votes away for the petition to be sent to Congress!!!!! We are waiting on numerous victims of bigamists and con artists to fill out surveys and the data to be compiled before we send it to Congress. We have to change the way the law looks at 'sweetheart' scams. These con men and women hurt not just one person. their lies perpetuate to their gains, and leaves so many victims behind. I don't understand how on my blog some of the entries that I wrote were taken off, but know this: the petition will get sent to Congress and VICTIMS will be heard and not laughed at. Due to technical difficulties the petitiononline site is having difficulties, but please put the signature on the petition. I have to wait until they fix the site to approve the pending signatures. It has been a long road to where I am now. I had been traumatized, and homeless. I was devastated by the presence of one man who came and went into my life. He left me me penniless, homeless and emotionless. I say emotionless, because he shattered the fantasy of our lives into shards. I was gullible, yet, I believed in the goodness of people. He left me in 2000. He left to create another life, because all around him the life he created with me was crashing. People were catching on to his lies. I was not quite there. Some good has come out of the devastation that he left me in: I learned I was a GOOD person, strong, and a survivor. I made some new friends. I hope along this long road, I have been able to help someone else heal from the pain that was caused to them from a predator. Mary and Chuck are honorable people who have helped exposed many phonies. These phonies take away the real honor from our honorable soliders who actually earned their service years and medals valor. There is a new act called Stolen Valor.....anyone caught lying about earning any of these medals will be arrested and charged with a felony. Please read this wonderful article. They helped expose my ex. He was a deserter in the army and has lied about being a POW, numerous times. They helped me seek justice... so be leery of those people who spin a good tale, sometimes those are lies. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is probably a lie. Do not believe anyone who states they are a POW and show medals. If they can back it up with their service records then their stories are valid. UPDATE: The fight bigamy group suggested that I continue to get signatures, and that the surveys get sent out and returned, and included with the petition. I agree if we can back up the fact there are indeed scienctific proof, then the government will take us more seriously. Those of us that have gone to government officials and so forth to get justice have often been laughed at. So please continue to keep signing. For all those that have already signed, and we h ave a bunch, thank you thank you. I went to print out the Petition, and it stated that I needed money, since I had fewer than 2500 signatures. If I ask for 1,298 more signatures, it will not cost me a dime to print out the petition. At least 100 stamps is 43.00 dollars, and since this is coming out of my pocket, I have to do this a little at a time.
