One of the Lads who works for me is a Manchester City Supporter (aka Martyr). The Mighty Reds played City at the weekend. At the last minute I managed to get tickets for the game, which originally I was told were in the centenary stand. This would have made the afternoon a mild-mannered affair. However, when I collected the tickets of a mates, mate, (thanks by the way). I found them to be cherished Kop tickets. So there I stood awaiting the arrival of the city supporter, hoping that he hadnt turned up in a City shirt. Thankfully for his own sake he hadnt, so we proceeded to the famous stand, to find out seats. Not that we were actually seated for much of the time, as the Kop used to be a Terrace (standing only) and many of the fans still like to stand as much as possible much to the annoyance of the crowd stewards. Not sure all of these would be in my top ten design classics, and I am sure Smartphone/Windows Mobile lovers will be wondering why there is not entry from them. However, it does provide a nice trip down memory lane, I remember "The Brick" and the muppet who once brought one into a bar I worked in, only to get it covered in lager and never see it work again. Can anyone remember they used to sell raincovers for mobiles... I have very fond memories of my Nokia 7110. I used to know some guys @ Ericsson pre-merger who loved our Internet Recruitment website that had also been developed to work in WAP. To any of the guys who read this from my past, that was killer back then and was ORM, that later developed in .Net I also remember Sony-Ericsson sub-letting half of our office space before we went into liquidation, and then buying most of our infrastructure for peanuts...hopefully it pissed them off though that we ran Nokia firewalls. Just got an advert email from Microdirect, a local (to my work) computer shop...very good normally very cheap also, i bought my shuttle off them.
