Situated beside the Museum building and the secure shed which houses a very well restored Coxan Wagon. is the Museum,s Garden garden,This garden which has been designed and maintained by our curator Cheryl Macansh. It comprises bush shrubs and other hardy plants,native to our locality, Visitors alway pause while passing to admire the garden and view the historic bottle and crockery franments which form part of the garden and all having been artfully arranged by Cheryl.   Adding additional colour to the garden is a circular concrete table featuring a mosaic designed and applied by local artist Angie Russi.   The Coxan wagon is a one of many which were manfactured by the Coxan Company of Numurkah,this wagon was donated to the Museum by the Brown family. They used it for many years on their farm to cart farm produce to the railway. The wagon was restored by the Shed program and now takes pride and place at the museum it is  a reminder of the way goods were transported ...

Springtime is the best time to pay Rushworth a visit and view all the lovely wattle trees, which are now in full bloom ,  also you can take a stroll in the bush and see the great display of spring wildflowers.   While you are there why not call in at the Rushworth Museum in High Street and have a look at the numerous historical items they have on display . The Rushworth Museum can be opened by appointment,  and we welcome groups and bus tours  . The Rushworth Historical Society held its annual general meeting on the 4th of July, and a letter was received  from  John Fielden stating that owing to ill health and travel comments . John stated he could no longer stay on as the  President of the Museum. John had served for  many years as president and he has given the museum great leadership with the tasks that had presented while he was the president . A election for  office bearers took place and the following members were elected. Mike Wellington has now taken on the role of President  and he will be assisted by the following office bearers Vice President George Gemmill, Secretary Lorraine Rule Assistant secretary Glenys Oliver. The Rushworth Easter Festival on Easter Saturday was a huge success with a very large crowd coming from near and far to enjoy  a  wonderfull family day out . The weather was just perfect and the Main street was set up with a market of many stalls.    Then at noon they were all  treated to a  great street parade which included old horse drawn wargons, one  being hauled by a team of 8  horses,  many old tractors and  all the other floats were viewed with great interest.   The Rushworth Museum was open with many people taking in the opportunity to visit the Museum, many were amazed at the number of item and the way there are presented inside the museum.   The organizing committee are to be congratulated on the efficient way the whole Easter Festival was presented there was something for all age groups to enjoy. and it was enjoyed by all who made the effort to attend , Sure they will all be back next year and bring their friends along.
