-+'Avatar' Score Details Revealed
James Horner's score for Avatar gets an official site, and has an awesome audio sample of the track "Into the Na'vi World"! Today, Atlantic Records issued the first details about the score. There are 13 tracks from composer James Horner (Titanic) comprising the pure score. The final track, titled "I See You (Theme From 'Avatar')," features vocals from Grammy-nominated singer Leona Lewis. The score drops on December 15th (December 14th internationally) , three days shy of the movie, and is currently available for pre-order at AvatarScore.com. WIth all the marketing focusing on cutting-edge technology and space weaponry and battle cries, there's something we're not really talking about with regard to Avatar -- it's probably going to have a lot in common with Titanic. The plot elements are all there -- a forbidden love set against an action backdrop, two people coming together from two different worlds to try to unite, and let's face it, probably some ...

11/17 Update:   “That’s a total rumor, I have to say,” the actress, who will next be seen in the Dec. 25 action-adventure tentpole Sherlock Holmes, tells EW. “I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4.‘ And I said, ‘Really? Or, more accurately, who a superhero is going to be fighting in his/her's next trip to the big screen; and with Spider-Man 4 snowballing into production, the rumors have once again begun ...

Michael Jackson's This Is It was all there was as far as new nationwide releases went this Halloween weekend, but it was sufficient to help propel overall business nine percent higher than the same timeframe last year. Though it may not be commensurate with the raft of pre-release hype surrounding the movie and Michael Jackson's death, This Is It performed exceptionally well for a concert picture or music documentary, charting second only to the opening of the Hannah Montana concert. It raked in an estimated $21.3 million on approximately 5,500 screens at 3,481 sites, ranking as the fifth highest-grossing Halloween debut on record, and has grossed $32.5 million in five and a half days. Add in foreign grosses of an estimated $68.5 million from 98 countries, and This Is It's five-day worldwide haul was $101 million, which exceeded the lifetime tally of the Hannah Montana concert. While morbid curiosity was part of the appeal, spurred on ...
