We got our first snow last night.. it covers the ground and makes it beautiful..but doesn't stay long or make the roads bad. If only it could do that all winter long! Mom had a good day yesterday. Was able to visit with her sister on the phone and eat a "REAL MEAL" for a change. It was a holiday treat.. she doesn't get another one until Christmas the dietician said. She enjoyed every bite!! As we sat there talking with her the deer began moving about the property and it seemed to be a whole family. The buck looked to be about a 6 pointer and there were three little ones. Mom sure enjoyed the show because they came while it was light enough to really see them. We turned off the lights in the room so they would stay around a little longer. It raised quite a commotion in the other rooms too. No flash on the camera didn't help as much as I thought it would.. soo the images are blurry.. better luck next time .. I hope I get the buck!! ...

glitter-graphics.com Gas prices are lower here than we thought they would be.. 2.55 some places 2.49! Traffic is heavy on our freeway as in many places today. I took our back road out of town which was congested with truckers taking their corn to the ethanol plant. Farmer's life never takes a holiday until it is all harvested I guess. Spent my first day at home in three weeks yesterday. I made pies and prepared some food ahead of time. It's rainy and cold here, better than the flakes I say. I am still not ready for that yet. The town has put up all it's Christmas decorations already and it is quite festive looking. When I arrived at the center to visit mom while she had her treatment, they told me she had been up since 4 AM. The transportation left at 5:15 or so and her treatment started after 6. She will have a long morning before she goes home and can rest. She had an excellent day yesterday including some therapy and says she hopes more days ...5 days ago

RANDOM THOUGHTS HERE.. BEAR WITH ME... Life here is very hectic.. more than I thought it would be once mom was settled here in town. Life in the "rehab" facility is not the best we can get but what we have to deal with. Mom has been struggling with things and her life away from the excellent care she was getting at the hospital. Anybody knows that settling into a new place takes time. New routines and new people and they take time to learn. Fear takes a big toll on mom there too. The bed is smaller and there is no rail on the sides to make sure she won't fall out.(they are working to help that situation)or at least there is a promise to help it. Sis and I have decided that if she does fall we will arrange for help at home and keep her there the best we can. I have done this kind of work for over 20 years so I do know what it takes and will take whatever help I can get to keep her safe. Many of you have had similar situations I am sure and ...8 days ago
WHEW!! I barely had time to breathe yesterday. It started before daylight and went on until after dark. Mom was finally transferred to her dialysis center where she got a treatment and then transferred again to our hometown tendercare facility. While she was at her treatment I investigated WHY my cell phone was acting out and not working! Talk about frustrated! I spent almost an hour in the SHAK trying to get it resusuitated.... but no matter what they did .. it was fruitless. I pronounced it over and moved on to the 21st century. Those great people there ..especially AMANDA, worked pretty hard to try to get it working. Now I have a new baby to try to figure out how to make work. SHE said it was easy . but it's NOT! It rings and I can call out so I am happy with that!! I rushed through lunch and went to the KMT to get some items I knew mom would need. When I arrived back at the treatment center.. She was the last one left in the chair at 5:10 PM. ...
