Time flies, although I am still a naive student. I have been Hk for exactly three weeks, and become familiar with surrounding issues. Hong Kong is a solid city. Why do I say like that? It can accommodate so many people with so small place. How can it do that? It has millions of dense high buildings and narrow roads swirling around the hills. While we walking on the road, it makes you feel that Hong Kong has several levels from ground to the top. As most people know, the cost of living in HongKong is quite high. As a result, almost over half of the oversea students including from Mainland prefer to cook themselves. Eat more nutritionally and cost less. Language is a big challenge for Mainland student, because most people here speak Cantonese, and some even could not understand Putong Hua. So, we may have only two choices to do, one is to practice how to speak Cantonese, the other is just left which is making your English better (Of course, not all the Hong Kong people could understand English, especially those without that good education background). As a girl aged nearly 30, I really endow the year of 2008 a significant sense. April 8 th , I got married with a boy named Zan qf, though we have been together only since Nov.11, 2007. I have to say that, he is really a good man in my opinion who I could trust completely. In June, I received the offer letter from City University of Hong Kong, and after a serious discussion with my family, I finally made the decision to go for my PhD study in HK. Then, a series of things about abdicating the position in Tsinghua were dealt with well and I could go to HK as a pure mainland student. On 29 th Sep, I went abroad the train from Beijing to HK with tear flowing on my face. On 30th Sep, I arrived at Hong Kan (not very sure about how to spell in Cantonese). With the help of Dear Yina and one new classmate I went into the dormitory and settled down.
