So I am sitting here waiting on my hubby who embarked on yet another mission to try and raise money for the school library. He has titled it "Journey for the Future" where he and several others are walking 50 miles to the state capitol. They left at around 5 yesterday afternoon, and have not yet returned. I wish I could have been there. He has really met with a ton of resistence too if you can believe that. I haven't done the math but it is set up in pledges. You can pledge however much you want per mile. However many miles he walks you pay. Or you can just give a flat rate donation, doesn't matter. Anyway, probably the lowest amount that could be pledged per mile was something like $2.50 total and people still didn't want to do it. Can you believe that? Tons of businesses wouldn't even put up the fliers about it and the teachers at the school, half of them did not even send the fliers home. The fliers of which myself, his mother, and he all stapled together ...

The following is an email I received today from my mother-in-law, I thought it was hysterical and decided to share. Enjoy! A WOMAN'S WEEK AT THE GYM If you read this without laughing out loud, there is something wrong with you. This is dedicated to everyone who ever attempted to get into a regular workout routine. Although I am still in great shape since being a high school football cheerleader 43 years ago, I decided it would be a good idea to go ahead and give it a try. I called the club and made my reservations with a personal trainer named Belinda, who identified herself as a 26-year-old aerobics instructor and model f or athletic clothing and swim wear. My daughter seemed pleased with my enthusiasm to get started! The club encouraged me to keep a diary to chart my progress. MONDAY: ...

Yayyyyyy!!!!!!! We have rain today!! I am sitting here typing this and listening to the rain pour down! I am so happy, we have been needing some really good rain. I was watching the news night before last and they were discussing certain areas of our state having a water ban of sorts, due to the extreme drought here. I am pretty sure there are already places who are restricted to a certain amount of water, but to think you could be restricted from using it at all is nuts. It was so crazy, a few months ago I remember seeing a newscast about one of the surrounding counties. They had a laundry list of stipulations for watering. Certain places could water for a certain amount of time on certain days. I don't know about you but that is quite disturbing to me. Thankfully my county hasn't done anything like that, though I do believe the cost of water has gone up. My water bill is the highest I have ever seen. I don't know how we will ever get out of this stupid dry spell. It ...
