A Thanksgiving Prayer As we sit around the table This Thanksgiving Day I want to thank the Lord Jesus The feast given to us The family seated at the table We have so much love to share We say a Thanksgiving Prayer Thank you for the turkey The potatoes and the corn Thank you for the stuffing Vegetables and pumpkin pie The table is set so beautifully It takes your breath away Thank you for the one's I love We say a Thanksgiving Prayer today We pray for the homeless That they are given food We pray for those who are shut-in's We hope someone will call Give these people what they need Dear Jesus, do not let them fall Thank you for the sky, so blue The birds singing in the trees Thank you for the flowers The park that we can be Most of all, thank you For the gift of life You have given us We are forever grateful For this Holiday We thank you Jesus For giving us this Thanksgiving Day. © 2005 Linda Ann Henry What Happened to Thanksgiving ...281 days ago

Mentiras E Lorotas "Senhor, livra-me dos lábios mentirosos e da língua enganadora" (Salmos 120:2). Um menino visitou sua tia, que o repreendeu por contar uma lorota. "Você sabe", advertiu ela, "o que acontece com pequenos meninos que dizem mentiras?" "Não, tia. O que acontece?" ele perguntou. "Bem", disse ela, "existe um homem que mora na lua, de cor esverdeada, que tem só um olho, que desce no meio da noite e voa de volta para a lua levando pequenos meninos que dizem mentiras. Lá eles são espancados com varas pelo resto de suas vidas. Você ainda dirá mentiras?" O que é a mentira para nós? Somente o que outros dizem ou também o que nós dizemos e que está em desacordo com a verdade? Será que podemos medir o tamanho de nossas mentiras, classificando-as, às vezes, como "mentirinhas inocentes", quando nos convém?
