It is a story from the past, a memory of an event, the truth as she saw it. Was it the truth, probably not, because the truth changes. The truth becomes different for her as she tells the story. In some ways, the story is better. But as time goes by the story mutates and her perception changes. Everyone has their interpretation of events in the past. Each person will re-tell the story different. But with every retelling she will change the story slightly, will add details that are fictional and these will over time become more real to her. So strange, as she sits trying to contemplate her next blog that all she can think about is the fictionalization of life. Erica Jong believes that most of her memories have become fictionalized. Her memories are a victim of her very creative imagination; she says that she improves reality. I met a retired businessman who isn't really retired. His goal he told me was to mark time with special memories, make special memories. He wants to ...

We spent most of the afternoon yesterday visiting, exploring, hiking our way through Mercer Arboretum http://www.hcp4.net/mercer/ and Botanical Gardens. We being the part of the Watson family that willing hikes (Fay, David and Zachary). We packed a lunch, okay, we didn't pack a lunch, Fay packed us a lunch and we headed up the freeway to trek to the North side of Houston. Taking temporary leave of my senses we started to head out Dixie Farm Road to I-45. Crazy idea that...because EVERYONE was trying to get to the Wings Over Houston Air Show at Ellington. So, we detoured and made our way to Scarsdale using back roads. No other distractions or detractors on the trip. I have posted photographs in a picasa album and embedded the slideshow here.

I love the emails, you know. Those emails, the ones that say "you have won a million pounds or half a million pounds." All I have to do is send an email or call a special number and give them all the information they need to crack into my bank account. Or better yet steal my entire identity. If only it were so easy to get that kind of money. What would I do with the money? Would I be any happier? I really don't think so. But if you read this and you have a spare half a million pounds lying around, please send it my way. Just send me an email with your name, email address, street and mailing address, date of birth, social security number or federal i.d. number and the name and address of your bank. Thanks in advance!

Sitting here and remembering Halloween as a child, then speeding forward to being a teen. It was so much fun, and always a time to celebrate the fall. When my children were young it was also a very special time. Now, they each are choosing how to spend the day. It falls on a Saturday this year. Emily will be in Austin. Ross is wanting to head to San Marcos again. Jon is supposedly going to hang out with his best friends. Zack has not told me if he has any plans. It is is like last year he will decide at 5 pm Halloween night that he wants to be something really cool for Halloween. Then it will be a scramble to see if we can come up with something that is even close to his idea! In any case, Halloween is always fun, we always laugh and there always seems to be plenty of candy left laying around here!

At 0445 it was 57 degrees F, low humidity and no rain! Wow! Running weather for sure! We were out of the house by 0500. At first it felt a little cool, but after a short walking warm up I broke into a slow jog, within minutes I felt great. I ran over 5 miles and did a pretty steady 11 min / mile. This is the time of year that running is a joy. This afternoon I took off again and ran to the gym. It was so nice to have the sun shining down on you without oppressive radiant heat. I don't know how many more of these great days we will have but I for one am grateful to have had this one!
