Hiya! Release the Test Account has been talking about Windows Live @Mobile! Check it out... Quote Always on the move and connected with my new smartphone PDAs. Mobiles, smart phones, crackberries… it’s a lot of stuff to carry round with you these days. I just got a new work smart phone (very cool little touch screen job, my mates are well jealous) and it’s got the coolest feature ever – Windows Live @mobile. Basically I’ve got WL Hotmail, Messenger, Spaces and Search all running on my phone. It’s cool because I get my work emails through synching the phone with our office Exchange server, but all my personal stuff (my eBay bids, Lastminute deals and personal stuff etc.) runs through my Hotmail account. So I don’t miss anything, it’s like taking my laptop out with me but in my pocket. The WL search running on mobile explorer is cool, and when I’m away from my desktop PC the guys in the office can still ping me on messenger, which is a lot easier than sending me a TXT. I ...

Hey lookie here. Tests Biggest Fan is writing some interesting thoughts on Windows Live @ edu... Quote Has Microsoft gone mad? Why would I say that? Well I was always a bit sceptical about mega companies like Microsoft doing stuff with colleges because I’m a bit of a cynic and wondered if this whole Windows Live @edu thing was a bit of a marketing gimmick. But it’s not, actually, it’s a really good idea. You see I’ve got a 2GB inbox email account (seems to be spam & junk free too), I’ve got online file storage where I can store and share documents – it’s got all the privacy settings and stuff so I can control who sees what which is really important after that nasty Jenni girl from 1st year business studies copied my paper on branding. Grrrrrr… Basically I can now do text, voice and video chats plus share files, publish a website for the Hockey team and share calendars with the rest of the team (and anyone else I want to come to think of it). Actually with my ...

...here's another one... Quote Oh man my hangover is bad today…it’s on the MAP I got hammered last night on free beer.. wahey! My brother works at an oil company and it was their 10 th anniversary bash at the Grovesnor Hotel in Manchester. The company supplies parts and machinery to oil companies all around the world – and some of the stuff is really expensive (they’ve got turbines that cost $1,000,000 a pop). It turns out they’ve got this new tracking system which shows them where every piece of equipment is, regardless of where in the world it might be, even down to showing aerial pics of the oil refinery. Amazing stuff – they reckon that this new mapping software ties in with their databases and client extranet and has driven a 30% rise in profits – hence the massive party. I’m a bit of a tech head (I would be cos I run the website for my property management company) and I reckon we could tie this new mapping software into our staff apps. They all have GPS PDAs for on-site ...

Hey - check this out - My fans are really starting to hammer it out on their Spaces... Quote Yo! Still busy with the Save Testy campaign, so I’ve gotta keep this brief. I’ve been going at 24/7 to drum up support for Testy. I’m now very much the central Hub of the Save Testy Campaign. OK. The campaign got a huge boost today when I found out my college has just switched to Windows Live @edu. That means the software and services we’re using is actually Windows Live Hotmail, Spaces, Messenger, Sky Drive and Mobile BUT (and this is the clever bit) it’s all branded with my college logo on it so it blends into the whole college facilities without making you feel like it’s an advertising campaign for Microsoft. I spoke to a mate in the computer labs and he said that Windows Live hosts the whole thing for the college, but students can keep their email addresses after they graduate and leave – which makes life easier. Actually the whole thing makes life easier – I’ve already set-up a ...
