My house is a construction zone. We had to have the concrete repoured in the living room and the kitchen/entryway. The concrete was buckling from settling. I had a mountain in the living room. We took all the furniture out to the garage and then had the floors sledgehammered up. since all the furniture was gone Robert went ahead and scraped the popcorn down from the ceiling, (I hate that stuff) and primered and painted it. He also repainted the living room and entry way. One wall is an accent wall painted in cup of cocoa and the rest are desert floor. (don't you just love the names of paint colors?) He put crown molding across the top of the fireplace and put up a mantel. He is now tiling the kitchen floor. This poor man is in so much pain and is so tired. I wish that I could help, I keep asking but since I have no experience in this he keeps telling me no. BUT...............WOW IS IT GOING TO LOOK GREAT!! the living room is put back together except for the ...

I want to make a few comments about Nadya Suleman, the mother of the octoplets. First of all, I hate the way she is being referred to as "Octo-Mom". This is a very thinly veiled insult. It makes her sound like a comic book super villian. Spiderman's newest nemesis. Dr> Octopus' wife or some such thing. Second, I think the way that she has been persecuted by the media and the way everyone, celebrities included, are baying for her blood is ugly and vile. Cher, on national television said that her children should be taken away from her. Why? Is she an abusive mom? Not that anyone has said. Basically, Nadya Suleman is an unfit mother because she had the children in the first place and to compound her sin - she did it all on her own, with no husband. Now I know the argument, she was irresponsible to get pregnant like that when she has no way to support them. She tries very hard to stay off of welfare. She's been putting herself through ...

Conor is too funny sometimes. His teacher has a system for keeping order with 27 4-5 year olds. If a child is naughty then his or her name gets written on the board. Now, they're are given the chance to get their name OFF the board with good behavior. But, if their name is still on the board on Friday then they don't get to pick a prize out of the bucket to take home. (Mostly old happy Meal toys, but it's still a thrill for them.) The first 5 weeks Conor got to bring a toy home on Friday ONCE. He was forever getting into pencil swordfights with one of the other boys. Since then, however he has been much better. So I was surprised the other day when he told me that his name was on the board. "Why is it on the board?" I asked. "Because teacher put it there." Duh, I guess I'm an idiot! "Why did she put it there?" Let's try a little logic. "Because she wanted to." Okay, that makes sense. ...

They grow so fast. Conor is now in PreK. We are paying a fortune for him to go to catholic school. We really like it and his teacher, we just don't like the bill that comes with it. It's not just tthe tuition. There are all theses other little "fees" that get added on. But Conor is really happy there, he's made a lot of friends and he is doing so well there. We did have a spit take a couple of weeks ago. The kids were all learning about Martin Luther King. So one night Robert and I are sitting on the bed and Conor is between us. So I asked him if he had been learning a lot about Martin Luther King. He got very excited and said YES. Robert smiles and asked him what he had learned, and our darling child looks at us and says; "That all white people are good and all black people are bad" WHAT DID HE JUST SAY!!!!! I about died!! We stayed calm and told him that there were good and bad people everywhere and that color ...
