-+The puppet that is our government....
1099 days ago
So it's been a day since Canada's PM Harper announced that Canada would consider Quebec a nation within Canada. After this surprise decision, I'm still left wondering why Harper would do such a thing? I mean Harper has opened a huge can of worms. Understandably, he was trying to undercut the Bloc who were trying to introduce a bill that would declare Quebec a sovereign nation period. Not within Canada. So I can see his justification. But really I think that he's taken them a step closer. Fine, he may have avoided the sovereignty bill by giving them nation status within Canada, but how long will it be before they come and ask for complete seperation? I mean they are going to claim that they're already a nation within Canada. I also think that to some extent, Harper's hands are tied. He's trying to maintain a fragile minority government, that in recent polls, has slipped into a tie with the Liberal party. I mean one only has to look at recent proposed tax cuts to see ...

Surfing around late last night, I came across this article posted on CNN:   http://www.cnn.com/2006/EDUCATION/11/19/student.stunned.ap/index.html   What is it these days with LA police officers and abusing their powers?  Now granted these guys are not real police officers, but check this out:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3GstYOIc0I Can you believe this?  This is an outrage!  They keep tasering this student at the library of all places.  They keep asking him to get up, but how can you possibly get up after having had a spurt of electricity sent through your body that is designed to cripple you to some degree? The worst part about this whole thing is that while I was surfing around hoping to read about people's outrage surrounding this issue, I actually found posts about people who agreed with what had happened!  I mean let's be realistic, this guy is a) sitting at the library, b) he's not drunk and c) poses no threat to the police officers safety.  Was ...

-+Missing Max

It's a week ago today that our cat Max Bakshi passed away. For most of you, you're probably thinking that I'm some emotionally challenged individual. I mean who blogs about the loss of a pet? How can a pet have so much of an impact on someone? Well Max was very much a member of our close knit family. Max was the center of attention in our house. I remember fondly how he gave everyone so much love like only a pet can. Max always greeted me at the door, no matter what time I came home. Whether it was 3 am or 5 pm Max came to the door and said hello even if he was fast asleep in some corner of the house. I can't help but come home and hope that he will there waiting at the door. Working at the Hospital for Sick Children these days, I can't help but feel for the parents who are bringing their sick kids to the hospital. It's such a tough and helpless feeling. I can't say for certain that I can feel exactly what they are feeling but I can sure relate. For the entire ...
