hi every one,i hope you are all ok,i very rarely post blogs most of the time im busy,as i love being with my daughter "Beth",in my free time and playing bass with our band "The Other Side".well we have been gigging away since about may and are getting a good reputation for our all out rock style performances and enjoying the ride of euphoria and hopefully people enjoy our set as well.we have 3 gigs coming up soon 1 in "The Basement"in ,cumbernauld on the 26th of november. "Whstle Binkies"in edinburgh on the 1st of december,and the 10th of december in MacSorleys in glasgow.when we will have a break to so we can concentrate on the new tunes that we have as we have been gigging most weeks and havent had time for todo our new material,hope to be back before christmas and new year. everyone take care and if you want a link to our band site please send me a message and i will gladly send you a link. well take care, all the best. hi, just to let everyone know we have put 2 new songs on our band page on my space,they are 1st copies so a little rough around the edges but still sound good to us. the songs are our own work with the words written by our songsmith "kirby". the 1st 1 is called "Moving On" and the 2nd 1 is "Reality",please feel free too go to the band page and tell us what you think of the songs, we are playing in glasgow on wednesday at "THE BOX",then saturday the 7thnov we are at "HUSTLERS"IN DUNDEE,then wednesday the 10th back in glasgow at McSORLEYS. well everyone take care and hope to see you on "THE OTHER SIDE"

Hi, sorry i always forget to come on here and add something,just very busy, gigging with the band and seeing my daughter. Well on friday the 25th, we played a gig at the Cosmopol in Clydebank,wich is a great place to play,nice venue and great atmosphere.we turned up for our sound check to find out our singer wasn't turning up.After quite a few expletives and ranting,we came to a desiscion to carry on with kirby taking over the singing amd we had a great gig with kirbys voice cutting through the set with ease and instead of it stopping him from playing lead it inspired him to get the guitar behind his head and put on a great performance.we all enjoyed our set and we recieved a great reception from the crowd.so thank you to everyone of you,CHEERS.So we are in KIRKINTILLOCH ON WEDNESDAY 0TH. for our next gig.if our singers there we will get on with it,and if not we have very capable man already there. we are now rocking on "THE OTHER SIDE". our band "THE OTHERSIDE" have been playing a few gigs in the edinburgh and glasgow areas and we have been getting great reactions from the audience for our full on rock/punk sound.it has been a pleasure to play these gigs as we are not youngsters anymore.we would like to thank anyone who has turned up to our gigs and enjoyed themselves.if you would like to hear the band we have a myspace page at http://www.myspace.com/kirby1962 .please leave a comment good or bad.we are busy at the moment rehearsing and recording new songs and will be gigging again the start of august. take care everyone. derek
