-+Life for Rent - Dido
Stumbled upon Dido on Pandora; She is super talented. Most of her songs were written by her most of the time and most of those songs were inspired by incidents from her own life. Brilliant Lyrics --   Here are a few words from a song called Life for Rent  --   ...Its just a thought, only a thought If my life is for rent and I don't learn to buy Well I deserve nothing more than I get Cos nothing I have is truly mine...         A few more lines from another song called Thank You -   ...I want to thank you for giving me the best day of my life Oh just to be with you is having the best day of my life...     ...and saving the best for the last - White Flag , its difficult to pick only a few lines from this song -- the whole song is just so wonderful. But here goes -   And when we meet, Which I'm sure we will All that was there, Will be there still I'll let it pass, And hold my tongue And you will think, That I've moved on....
-+The Future is a lot different
Speeding down the road in Bangalore a few days ago, happen to glance at a billboard, which best I can recollect read -   "The future is a lot different than what it used to be"   for some reason I believe it had Arthur C Clarke's name beside it (I couldn't find any sources online backing it, so I'm not sure if I read it right). Like they say what was said is more important than who said it, so its not really whether Sir Clarke said those words or not that matters as much as the fact that its such a profound thought.   Though in the past I generally wrote about what these means to me, would like to leave them this time around without describing how I feel about them, but let you see for yourself what you have in your mind.

-+Its that time again....

Its time again - for another major release of Windows, this time around after quite a long gap. And Boy is this release gonna rock the boat! This time is special for me in more than just one way - Its nice to see the release fall through from the inside - from being a (Micro)softie myself. Now is an exciting time to be a part of Microsoft, almost every part of the company thats been working on its biggest software release ever comes together to evaluate what they've built and if its ready to be incorported into the operating system in any fashion or not. I've been lucky to be involved in two such areas the SDK and the other which I can't speak of yet.   The most exciting part is to see all the various pieces being made that will go into the Operating System coming together and all status-es going green.  It’s happening for real, we soon will be GO for Launch! Some of these green lights are even visible outside of the company - The new Windows Media Player 11 has RTWed, IE7 which ...
-+Thursday, 15th July 2006 - Hello *New* World

The world will never be the same - at least for me. Took me a while to let the dust settle in, and to realize the press conference and the emails that I saw on Thursday were really real. The man responsible for changing the world, to what it is today, is talking about transition plans from the company he created from scratch. Did he choke while ending his talk and introducing Ballmer? I can't believe he said all that till the end with a broad smile. Bill Gates is to Software what Einstein is to Physics. We can't imagine Einstein having had said he will work on Physics part time can we? But then again, this is Bill Gates we are talking about - he is one of a kind - he does the right thing. Software means more to me than Physics - explains why I still have to pinch myself to actually make me believe this is all real. Where ever you are reading this blog from, I can say with 93% certainty that you are reading it on the software that Microsoft created. For me Microsoft is much more ...
