When I was little I can remember spending the weekends with my great-grandmother. She would get up early of a morning a go to the gardens while it was still cool and the dew was still on. She wouldn't let me get into the garden very far because she was afraid I might step on a possible snake so I had to stay along the edge . I would listen to her tell me about gardening and fetch her an occassional basket when she got one full. I remember while I was there with her in the cool air of the morning and feeling the last of the dew in the air that I could hear all kinds of birds singing their songs. No other noises, just the birds and my grandma. I always said that I would never go back and change anything in my childhood, but I think that I would like to go back and have a few more hours with my grandma and those sweet mornings.
