-+Disney - Winding Down
Well, this is our last night in Florida. We are packed and ready to fly home tomrorrow. I'm sad. I've loved this entire vacation. It was a dream come true in so many ways. I was able to spoil my children and see them glow with happiness and gratitude. I saw my husband be a caring father and be as excited to see his girls dressed up as princesses as I was. We were blessed to be able to have this experience and to do as many things as we did.   After a day to rest we started Friday celebrating Hannah's 8th birthday! Thanks to my friend, Mindy, telling me about Disney's Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique (where little girls can get a princess makeover for a small fortune) I was prepared and brought our own dresses, tiaras, sparkles, and everything else needed for a day as a princess! Hannah got to have her run of the park as did Emily on Saturday. We were at Magic Kingdom both days and we were so glad we got to do mostly everything already...the crowds were light until Saturday (Emily's ...

Monday we spent just hanging out at the resort.   I organized our pictures and got a jump start on scrapbooking the trip! We enjoyed the pool and washed some laundry and the girls both napped to get some much needed extra rest. Hannah seemed to be feeling better. Tuesday we got up early and headed to Animal Kingdom. First we experienced the safari and all the African animals. We saw the Tree of Life up close and went to “It’s Tough to Be A Bug” inside the tree – which was a little scarier than I remember! I screamed and both girls were in tears at one point. Watch out for the stingers in your back and the bugs that crawl under your hiney! Also pretty scary was the Dinosaur ride which had Emily hiding her face the entire time, but at the end of the ride she popped up and said she wanted to do it again. We loved Finding Nemo the Musical and the new Yeti roller coaster as well as the “zoo” part of Animal Kingdom. We ate at the Rainforest Café, one of my favorite places to go and the ...

After planning 5 years ago to return to Disney, this time WITH our daughters in 2009 for our 10th anniversary, we have finally made it a reality. We planned to do it last February but couldn't afford it. God also asked us to move to PA and it wasn't going to happen then. We decided to wait and try to save over the summer and try to do it for the girls' birthdays in November. We had been praying for our house in NY to sell - we haven't been able to save anything in all these months with still paying on the house in NY with half the salary. But we are in the final stages of closing and are able to use the downpayment money for this amazing blessing of a vacation. Thank you, Lord for Your provision!   We kept the trip a secret from the girls until we were in the airport! We bought lots of souvenirs and gifts before we left and wrapped them and brought them along on the trip. The girls are getting birthday presents every single day we are here...and in turn stemming the tide of ...

Well, "Fwinter" was definately just a fleeting phenomenon. We've had beautiful fall weather since. Some rainy days, but some crisp and sunny ones too. We are keeping busy with ministry and household chores. At church we are helping with making sanctuary decorations, creating relevant videos, and serving on the worship team. At Pinebrook we are leading seniors' hymn sings, leading worship for retreats, and Steve is keeping up with plans for next summer as well as serving as Conference Host. That means he is the liason for rental groups that come in on the weekends and helps them with anything they need. It takes up much of his time.   The girls are doing well in school. Hannah is drilling those addition and subtraction facts and has started cursive writing which is very cool to her! Emily is enjoying preschool 2 days a week. They've gone on a field trip to a pumpkin patch, made applesauce and taste tested different colored apples. Emily decided her favorite was the ...

We are in the season of FWINTER! I made that term up after this conversation with Emily this afternoon:   Emily: "Why is Fall and Winter happening at the same time, Mommy?" Mom: "I don't know, Sweetie, that's a good question." Emily: "I think God just forgot to turn off the Fall."
