This will be the last entry for Hot.Wet.Action. (I’ll wait while the two of you go and get a hanky…) I’m leaving Dose.ca after four fun-filled years and, of course, it’s a bittersweet sort of moment. When I signed on to work at the original Dose magazine, I didn’t really know what I was getting into. There was a lot of cynicism directed at the project. People used to send us a bunch of nasty emails, letters and forum postings about how Dose was probably run out of a marketing company boardroom, by a bunch of “suits” and special computers programmed with demographics and “cool hunting” technology or whatever. In reality, Dose was run by a bunch of kids; hard working, eager, amazing people—all of whom were in the 18-35 year-old demo that the magazine was trying to appeal to. I instantly felt that I didn’t belong. I didn’t really feel that I was hard-working, eager or amazing enough (or at all, really) to contribute. I was probably right. Still, by working with all these great ...BennyC 202 days ago

Star Trek Okay, we're just a week away from Star Trek . People have seen it. Many people. People I know have seen it. Not me, but that's cool--it's only a matter of time. To keep those of us who haven't seen the new Trek salivating and whatnot, here are some more stills . Wolverine X-Men Origins: Wolverine is out today, will you be seeing it? Were I to answer that question, it would be with a big fat "NO." Still, no one's judging you if you go see it--it's the first summer blockbuster, those are hard to resist. Anyway, keeping things on the Wolverine tip, check out this great countdown of Wolverine's 10 least badass moments . Transformers Wow, we're really on a summer movie spank-fest here today, aren't we? So, here's the latest trailer for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen . We get into trouble pretty quick as Bumblebee dances to the Pointer Sisters, but then a jean shorts-clad Megan Fox bent over a bike for some reason and my pants hurt. ...BennyC 213 days ago
Star Trek Clips and Such Hey, have you heard about that Star Trek movie that's coming out directed by that guy who did that show? Anyway, here are some clips from it. Also, we've got a special website devoted to the whole thing you might want to check out now and then over the next little while. Megan Fox (and Seth Rogen for some reason) Besides looking, you know, okay, if you can believe it, Megan Fox is into geek stuff, too. In this tandem interview with Seth Rogen, she goes geek-to-geek with him and does pretty well. P.S. The pic up at the top of this post is her costume from the Jonah Hex film. Dexter Spoilers The last season of Dexter was okay. I didn't hate it or anything like that, but I wasn't as engaged by it for the most part. In the immortal (and not at all dated, like, more than 2 years ago but I'll use them anyway) words of Randy Jackson, "It was just a'ight for me, Dawg." There just wasn't any jaw-dropping surprises or insanely ...BennyC 219 days ago
Star Trek A bunch of new pics from the upcoming nerd-gasm are up and looking swell. G.I. Joe: Resolute This Adult Swim, mature version of the classic '80s cartoon is looking pretty sweet. You can see a bunch of webisodes on YouTube starting here . You'll see pretty quickly that it's definitely not the G.I. Joe of yesteryear. (Not) Blade Runner I was wondering if someone would do a version of Phillip K. Dick's Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep --the basis for Blade Runner , natch--that was a more literal adaptation. Obviously I don't have a problem with Blade Runner , I just thought the book was so different, yet still had interesting scenes, that it would be cool to see in some form. Anyway, they've made a comic of it , so there. I'm not sure I agree with how literal an interpretation it is (they use dialogue AND narration word for word from the book) but hey, it's out there now. BioShock 2 A ton of new screens have popped up and are, of course, ...
