La Ronge RCMP say they now have Mathew Sandy Allan Charles in custody after appealing Friday for the public's help in locating him. RCMP said Charles, locally known as "Chew," was arrested on Saturday. He is scheduled to appear in provincial court on Monday to face his outstanding charges. Charles was sought on a charge of aggravated assault in connection with an incident on Wednesday that occurred at 8 a.m. Police say a suspect entered a La Ronge residence and using a bladed weapon to assault a 37-year-old woman. Charles is currently charged with breaking and entering, mischief under $5,000, sexual assault, overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence and uttering threats.

Alexandria Scott, the 18-year-old Saskatoon woman who was reported missing on Wednesday, has been located unharmed in Regina, but police continue to search for her estranged boyfriend, who is sought on a number of warrants. He is believed to be in the Regina area. Scott was reported missing by friends and family when she failed to return from an apartment building on the 800 block of Confederation Drive on Wednesday after entering to retrieve some of her belongings. A witness reported that Scott was taken from the building and forced into a vehicle by a male, who police believe to be her estranged boyfriend. Call it the great hair straightener caper: Police seized a large supply of illegal hair straighteners, with an estimated value of $19,300, from a man trying to sell the products to a north Regina educational institution on Friday. A 23-year-old male was attempting to sell CHI Ceramic Hairstyling Irons for $59.95 and $64.95, a fraction of the price of genuine hair straighteners, when employees became suspicious and called police.
