-+DIY Altered-Wheelbase Car - Fairlane Funnification
DIY Altered-Wheelbase Car - Fairlane Funnification This is kind of a "because we can" moment, as Magnante and Mr. Rich go Match Bashing again, mercilessly hacking an otherwise sano '64 Fairlane into a retro Funny Car There's been renewed interest in altered wheelbase cars lately, and why not? They're sick to look at, fun to drive, and years away from becoming belly-button passe. The few original cars that surface every now and then are too valuable, too frail, or are ridiculously dangerous to be driven or raced, but who needs an original? You can build one yourself, and we're here to show how using basic construction techniques and a little bit of freestyle ingenuity.inline_mediumwraptextright31055682/techarticles/chassis/hrdp_0503_diy_altered_wheelbase_carhrdp_0503_01+1964_ford_fairlane+DIY_altered_wheelbase_car.jpgTrue Photo Gallery: DIY Altered-Wheelbase Car - How To Make Your Own Match Bash Funny Car - Hot Rod Magazine Photo Gallery: DIY ...
-+EFI System Conversion - EZ-EFI
EFI System Conversion - EZ-EFI We test the new EZ-EFI from FAST Converting from a carburetor to electronic fuel injection (EFI) has always been a bit of a hassle. The number of sensors and the miles of wiring harness, not to mention learning how to tune the sometimes confusing control unit with a laptop, scare a lot of people right back to their carburetors. But FAST's latest creation changes all that and uncomplicates EFI. The EZ-EFI is said to be self-tuning.inline_mediumwraptextrightWe installed the EZ-EFI system on a GM 290hp crate motor (disguised to look like the original 327) in Larry Abel's '65 Malibu SS. The throttle linkage is standard Holley, and the throttle valve cable bracket for the 200-4R transmission was also a quick hookup.26769655/techarticles/engine/hrdp_0912_efi_system_conversionhrdp_0912_01+1965_chevy_malibu+EZ_EFI_kit_install.jpgTrue Photo Gallery: EFI System Conversion - We Install The FAST EZ-EFI Kit On A '65 Malibu SS - Hot Rod Magazine ...

2010 Camaro Performance Parts - New Camaro Bolt-Ons Revisiting the HOT ROD Test Car Camaro with ported heads, a bigger cam, and long tube headers Last month, HOT ROD embarked on a mission to run 11s with a brand-new '10 Camaro SS. With a few bolt-ons, Nitto 555R drag radials, and a shot of nitrous, the HOT ROD test car blistered to a best of 11.96 at 115 mph. On the chassis dyno, it kicked out 514 rwhp (on the sauce), up from the stock numbers of 374 rwhp. Off the bottle, the bolt-ons were worth 23 hp and made 397 rwhp. After some practice on the dragstrip, car owner Robin Lawrence power-shifted his way to a best of 12.73 at 108 mph-sans nitrous. This month, we want to see how fast we can make it in naturally aspirated trim.inline_mediumwraptextright31004418/techarticles/engine/hrdp_0912_2010_camaro_bolt_onshrdp_0912_01+2010_chevy_camaro+bolt_ons.jpgTrue Photo Gallery: 2010 Camaro Bolt-Ons - Our SS Receives Upgraded Heads, Cam, And Exhaust - Hot Rod Magazine Photo ...
-+2010 Speed Parts Hall Of Fame

2010 Speed Parts Hall Of Fame We induct five more legendary speed parts into the HOT ROD Speed Parts Hall of Fame For 2008, HOT ROD created the Speed Parts Hall of Fame to recognize the aftermarket equipment that changed the world, and it was quite a list as you can see in the sidebar (below left). That first year, we put out a huge ballot of influential parts to the members of SEMA and asked them to vote for their favorite (or write one in if it wasn't on the list), then we inducted the 10 parts that got the most votes. After that initial group of 10 inductees, we limited it to five in 2009 and another five in 2010, which we present here. Once again, the members of SEMA responded, voting on the parts for this year's induction into the Hall of Fame. Without further adieu, here they are. -+Factory Five '33 Hot Rod Project Car - Race Rod

Factory Five '33 Hot Rod Project Car - Race Rod Introducing Factory Five Racing's latest kit, a kick-ass '33 Ford that handles. This month, we paint the fiberglass body. Those techniques are similar for any fiberglass body: checking fits, knocking off the mold line joints, filling the inevitable pinholes, and then prepping all surfaces for paint. On this job, a hood bulge was added to clear the engine we were originally going to use (a blown Ford DOHC mod motor-we ended up using a tried and true Ford Racing 347), but the part we're presenting here is what the average customer does when building a Factory Five '33 coupe-or an Mk 3, for that matter.
