-+Spreading Kashi-ness at our local Whole Foods store!
ErinDBecker 3 days ago
We were on a mission to connect with customers at our local flagship store, the La Jolla Whole Foods! In early October, a group of 12 Kashi employees took some time out of our day and headed over to our local Whole Foods to interact with customers and share some of our delicious Kashi products. We set up our Day of Change booth at the entrance of the store, and had the opportunity to interact with people as they walked in to do their daily shopping. As shoppers walked in they were greeted by the friendly faces of the Kashi staff and were encouraged to sample our tasty products, as well as take a spin at the Kashi prize wheel. Each person had the opportunity to win a delicious Kashi snack (Granola bars, GOLEAN® Bars, and TLC® Crackers) as well as some fantastic Kashi swag (reusable grocery bags and t-shirts). While most Whole Foods shoppers were familiar with Kashi (and were not shy to share their praise), we also gained some new fans! Several shoppers opened ...
-+Kashi Powered Soccer Team!

I play soccer on three different amateur teams, and I wanted to spread some Kashiness to my fellow soccer teammates. I’m in an over-30 outdoor women’s league that plays around San Diego, and our team, Smarti’s Board, has been together for about a year. Everybody on the team loves soccer, and enjoys living an active healthy lifestyle, so I thought they would love some free Kashi. Well, I couldn’t have been more right! On a sunny November Sunday I took a bag of Kashi® TLC® granola bars and Kashi® GOLEAN® bars to our 9:30am game in La Jolla. The ladies were overjoyed and super stoked to get some Kashi love right before one of our tougher games. I let people pick out the type of bar they wanted, and encouraged them to try a flavor that they had never tried before. The Chocolate Almond Crunchy GOLEAN bars and the Dark Mocha Almond TLC Chewy Granola Bars were ones that people raved the most about, along with the Dark Chocolate Coconut TLC Fruit & ...
-+Health: How Whole Grains Benefit Your Body
Kashi  6 days ago
A diet rich in whole grains can help keep your heart healthy and reduce the risk of certain cancers. That’s because whole grains contain fibers and other valuable nutrients that benefit your body. Studies also show that people who eat whole grains tend to stay more satisfied throughout the day, get more physical activity and maintain a healthier weight. Whole grains have so much to offer, we just can’t stop singing their praises! Body Mass Index (BMI)/Hunger Satisfaction: Dietary fiber has been associated with lower body weight and body fat. In one study, women with the highest fiber intake had a 49 percent lower risk of major weight gain over 12 years. Just like the link between whole grains and heart disease, an important part of body weight management seems to be whole grain’s fiber content. Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) and Stroke: According to recent studies, the bran component of whole grain in particular could be the main factor in reducing the risk of heart ...
-+Nutrition: What's Inside Our 7

There are big benefits to eating whole grains. They’re rich in fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients—compounds that have protective or disease-preventing properties. Whole grains also contain complex carbohydrates and are low in fat. Both the USDA and the Whole Grain Council recommend 3 or more servings of whole grains per day for everyone age 9 and older (serving size 16g). On average, a bowl of Kashi cereal gives you at least one serving of whole grains.* Most professional health organizations say that low-fat, low-saturated fat, high-complex carbohydrate diets—with plenty of vegetables, fruits and whole grains—are the best for a healthy body. And variety is key. When you eat 7 whole grains instead of just one, here’s the good stuff you’re including in your diet: Fiber: Two types of fiber, soluble and insoluble, are important to maintaining a healthy body. Soluble fiber, like the kind found in oat bran and barley, can dissolve in water and form a gel. In your ...
-+Grain Profiles: All Together Now
Kashi  6 days ago
Today our Kashi 7 Whole Grains inspire nearly every food we make. Each of the seven whole grains we’ve selected for our blend has its own distinct personality and role. From digestion helpers to cholesterol combatants, from diet assistants to vitamin victors, every grain offers something different. And when combined in our blend they create a healthy mix of textures, shapes, sizes and flavors. That’s why we chose them! Barley: Known for its smooth, nutty flavor, barley is one of the oldest cultivated grains in the world. It is a good source of soluble fiber, which makes it especially healthy, and in certain instances it can help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by helping to lower bad cholesterol. Buckwheat: This is the only seed known to have high levels of an antioxidant called rutin, which studies have shown improves circulation and helps prevents LDL cholesterol from blocking blood vessels. Hearty in flavor, buckwheat is also a good source of fiber. ...
