-+Adoption Success Story
November is National Adoption Month. What better time to consider providing a permanent home to a child in need. We profiled Teresa a little more than a year ago. A Bossier City couple saw her story and decided to open their hearts and home, not only to Teresa, but to her little sister as well.   Permalink Play Video Comments
-+Meet Ark-La-Tex Angels Lavelle and Jermon
153 days ago
Lavelle and Jermon are as close as siblings can be. They play sports and video games together. They're extremely well-mannered, respectful and both love basketball. They also like to attend church and sing in the church choir. Lavelle is 13. He enjoys bowling, math and might want to be a mechanic when he grows up. Jermon is 11. He has good leadership skills, is energetic and likes most sports. Both of these siblings say they want a family that would care about them and take good care of them. If you're interested in providing a permanent home for Lavelle and Jermon, please contact the Shreveport Region Foster and Adoptive Parent Program at 1-800-676-5048.   Permalink Play Video Comments

-+A permanent home makes a huge difference in a child's life
244 days ago
Freddie  has been in foster care for the past ten years.  He's been through a lot.  He appears smaller than his age due to being born with fetal alcohol syndrome. Now, at age 12, Freddie has been placed with a permanent family, with the love an support he needs for life.   Freddie is part of a loving family in Coushatta, Louisiana that has adopted six children.  His mom, Marie, is so happy to have Freddie as part of their family, " It makes me feel good.  Freddie makes everybody feel good cause he's a great little boy to be around." Freddie loves the way his new mom takes care of him.  "She takes care of me and stuff and if I fall down, she puts a bandaid on or something like that." If you're interested in providing any of our ArkLaTex Angels with a permanent home or finding out more about foster care, contact the Shreveport office of the Louisiana Department of Social Services.   Permalink Play Video Comments
